The Rage About Google Sitemaps

Every webmaster out there must be raving about one of the latest breakthroughs by Google — Google Sitemaps. What are Google sitemaps to begin with?

Google sitemaps are tools that allow webmasters to inform Google about their site, including any updates or changes. By so doing, Google is able to find their sites a lot more quickly. For webmasters, this is a dream come true. After all, it is every webmaster’s goal to get his site listed and indexed by search engines. Search engine spiders or robots would usually crawl the internet to look for new websites or updated websites. This has become more difficult, however, with websites growing in number by the thousands everyday.

Thankfully, with Google Sitemaps, things have become a lot easier and advantageous both to Google and the webmaster himself. With this recent breakthrough, Google no longer has to use a lot of resources in order to crawl even those websites that have not been updated.
